  2. I have a doubt, if nitrogen can share 3 pairs(triple bond) and form N2, which is stable,
    then why doesn’t carbon share 4 pairs, and even if it doesn, a C2 molecule is really unstable which is nt supposed to be the case.

  5. Sir,here my doubt is ,why doesn’t “NaCl”form covalent bond?
    Reason:Here the atom Na has one electron in the outer most shell and where as the Cl has seven electrons in valence shell,since why doesn’t they share the share electrons each other and form covalent bond.

  6. I usually go to crash course, but Hank talks too fast. I find this guy really explains these concepts well. Thank God for this video, I just couldn’t understand ionic bond/covalent/polar covalent bonds until now

    more annoying than a powerpoint presentation where all they do is read the powerpoint slides. c’mon TEACH dude.


    Ionic bond: where atoms who have too many electrons to imitate noble gases give electrons to atoms with too little…
    so robin hood? Take from the rich(electrons) and give to the poor?

    Covalent bond: where atoms share with others to get the outer shell filled. so
    like a venn diagram?
    where the shared electrons are in the middle, and the others are in the different spot? Am I right so far?

    Metallic bond: where metals pool their moola (electrons) and take only enough for them? I don’t quite know if im right with this one.
    Pls tell me if im right or not.
